Tom Peabody and Anthony Bonneville met playing open mics in Western Massachusetts just before the pandemic began, and while the idea of a band was a long way off, they both used the time in quarantine to lean further into their musical ambitions, writing and recording the songs that would eventually make up the first singles they would release as Mirabeau. Both singer/songwriters in their own right, Tom and Anthony bring distinct voices to the music of Mirabeau, and yet are at times indistinguishable when harmonizing. With powerful lyrics and catchy melodies, Mirabeau’s music sits firmly in the folk/americana genre, but is inspired by the country musicians that both have long listened to and admired. Counting such artists as John Prine, Simon and Garfunkel, Jamestown Revival, and Jason Isbell as their inspirations, Mirabeau’s repertoire is wide-ranging but their voice is distinctly their own.
